Pokémon Go is an augmented reality game created by Satoshi Tajiri, a Japanese game developer. The game is compatible with Android and iOS devices, so no one feels left out.
As an augmented reality game, it allows users to track the Pokémon in real life instead of just via a video game console. Also, for it to work, gamers have to turn their GPS and internet connection so that their location can be detected.
In the game, Pokémon or Poké Balls are supposed to be captured and retrieved by human gamers. These Poké Balls come in different shapes, styles, and sizes.
How do You Change Camera Settings on Pokemon Go?
If you are a diehard fan of the Pokémon Go game, you will be glad to know that it now has a camera that allows you to take pictures. This new camera is called the GO Snapshot.
With the GO Snapshot, you can take pictures of the Pokémon that you have saved in the game storage. To activate the camera mode, open the Pokémon game and click on the camera icon.
Once you do that, the GO Snapshot will open immediately, and then you can tap anywhere on the screen to show the real-world where Poké Ball can be thrown into. The Pokémon will stay put while you look for the best angle. That’s just how the Pokémon camera works.
However, we must quickly point out that for the game to work, you must grant it access to the camera on your phone. This should not be surprising because that’s a requirement for all augmented reality games.
Nonetheless, if you mistakenly denied the Pokémon Go access to your camera, all hope is not lost. Simply go to the “Settings” app on your phone and look for “Applications.” Open it and click on the already-installed Pokémon Go app. When it opens, you will see a field that prompts you to allow Pokémon Go access your camera.
Ways to Switch off AR+ Mode in Pokemon Go?
To begin with, the latest version of the Pokémon Go comes with a feature that not everyone might be comfortable with. This new feature is called the AR+ mode, and it’s for catching the Pokémon.
Furthermore, the thing with the Ar+ mode is that it can be quite challenging to set up, and it works differently for everyone. In fact, it can make you appear somewhat insane when battling to get the hang of it in a public space.
In light of the above, the developers of the Pokémon Go decided to make the AR+ mode an optional feature. So if you don’t want it, you can disable it on your Pokémon Go application. Here’s how to disable it:
Disabling AR+ Mode Through the Capture Screen
When you are playing the Pokémon Go, look at the upper right corner of your screen, and you will see a tab labeled “AR+.” You can toggle the tab between on and off. Also, if you toggle it to the right, you will notice that the camera will appear on the background of the screen. On the other hand, if you toggle to the left, the AR+ mode will turn off.
In addition, that’s the easiest and quickest way to turn the AR+ mode on or off. However, note that the Pokémon gameplay will automatically save. So whenever you start the game, it will resume from the last catch you made.
Disabling AR+ Mode Through the Settings Screen
If you don’t want to mess with the AR+ mode when catching a Poké Ball, then you can try something else. Besides, simply go to the settings menu to turn off the feature. Here’s how to go about it:
i. To begin with, tap the Poke Ball, which is located on the main window of the Pokémon app.
ii. Then you will see a tab labeled “Settings Gear,” tap it, and you will be led to a new window.
iii. Also, in the new window, you will see a list of items. Look for “AR+ mode” and uncheck it. That’s all!
Once you have successfully done that, the AR+ mode won’t pop up when you are playing the Pokémon Go. In addition, you have the opportunity of using the animated catch technique that was available before the new feature was introduced.
How to Catch Pokémon Go Smeargle
Catching a Smeargle is only possible in Pokémon Go. However, you need to enable the in-game camera of your Pokémon Go app before you can catch a Smeargle.
This camera was recently introduced, so you may have to download and install the latest version for you to have access to it. Here’s how to capture a Smeargle when playing Pokémon Go:
i. Start by searching and opening the Pokémon Go Snapshot feature.
ii. Then choose any Pokémon and click on the camera icon located on the top right region of your screen.
iii. Take as many pictures as you wish with your selected Pokémon and then leave the Snapshot mode.
iv. As you scroll through the pictures you have taken, you will realize Smeargle has photobombed some of them.
v. However, if you cannot capture Smeargle in any of your pictures, then repeat the steps above.
vi. Meanwhile, if you capture Smeargle in a photo or two, just exit the gallery and you will notice that Smeargle will take the form of a wild Pokémon in your location.
vii. Then all you have to do is to tap the Smeargle and you will receive instructions on how to catch a Pokémon. That’s all!
However, note that only one Smeargle can be captured per day. So when you catch one, you have to wait for another 24 hours before you can catch another. And very importantly, Smeargles tend to be good runners, so if you want to catch them, you can use a Razz Berry as a bait.

Closing the camera in Pokémon Go is not rocket science. You can easily turn it off in two ways: through the settings menu or capture screen.
